Sturgeon Caviar Server

The Sturgeon Caviar Server was made in that workshop — the body hand-hammered in a wave pattern, the leaping sturgeon cast and finished by the same hands that have done this work for decades.

The choice of the sturgeon is not incidental. It is the fish that gives caviar its name — cast in silver beneath the very vessel made to serve it. A second sturgeon rests in repose on the lid above. The hand-hammered surface catches light differently at every angle, no two reflections identical. The square engraved base grounds the composition.
